Many years ago, when my self-esteem was at an all-time low and my anxiety was at an all-time high, I was trying to meet people online for friendship and potential relationships. A guy and I met one day and walked around at a park, in public. I was unsure of myself and never had the confidence to talk about anything, but he talked to me as we walked:

He spoke about energy, and putting out what we want to attract. He told me to be more positive, both in self-talk, and in what I speak out loud. He explained the universe doesn’t hear “no” when you speak. For example, if you speak the intention “I don’t want to fail,” you will fail, because you’re putting out the negative version, and the “don’t (no)” isn’t heard. Instead, you should say “I want to succeed,” or even better “I will succeed.” And then success will find you.

It was a simple conversation, but a deep concept. I believe due to my anxiety, he likely assumed I wasn’t too bright. So he didn’t go too much further with the topic. But he was nice enough. Incredibly respectful and kind. I still think about that conversation and his ideas to this day. It was a rare gem of intelligence and insight that stuck with me.

Not too long after that I watched the movie What The Bleep Do We Know, and it’s all about the energies of the universe and how everything is connected. It shows the physical evidence of the effect of positive vs negative words, intentions and energy. I recommend that movie to everyone.
